The CLP Eco Building Fund provides subsidies for energy-saving improvement works in communal areas of shopping malls, residential, commercial and industrial buildings. This includes the replacement of air-conditioning and lighting, retro-commissioning projects, and smart technology to increase energy efficiency, reduce electricity expenses, and help create a smarter, greener Hong Kong.
Chiller replacement projects with coefficient of performance (COP) value of 10% better than that set by EMSD's Building Energy Code (BEC).

Nan Fung Property Management - Asia Trade Centre
Nan Fung Property Management is committed to promoting sustainable development by deploying a variety of energy-saving measures at its managed properties. Asia Trade Centre has set up a special project team to regularly review its energy consumption performance and find energy-saving solutions. With the support of the CLP Eco Building Fund, Asia Trade Centre will replace six air-cooled chillers with higher energy efficiency models, aiming to achieve at 1.2GWh of energy saving upon completion of the project.
Promoting energy efficiency and conservation is one of the effective ways to combat climate change and pursue sustainability. By improving the energy efficiency of our buildings, we not only reduce our energy costs but also help create a more sustainable city.
CLP is fully committed to the promotion of energy efficiency and have established the CLP Eco Building Fund since 2014 to provide financial assistance to eligible residential buildings and their nearby ancillary facilities (e.g. clubhouse, podium, property management office) to implement energy efficiency improvement works. From 1 October 2018 onwards, the scope of the Fund will be extended to cover eligible commercial buildings, industrial buildings and composite buildings and their nearby ancillary facilities.
Scope of Funding
The Fund aims to subsidise residential buildings, commercial buildings, industrial buildings and composite buildings and their nearby ancillary facilities by carrying out retrofitting projects for improving energy efficiency in communal areas.

Despite retrofitting projects, the following projects will also be supported by the Fund:
The amount of funding for retrofitting projects will be around 10% to 50% of the actual project expenditure, depending on the type of building, the type of installation and project duration. Project expenditure shall restrict to the cost of energy efficiency installations and the cost of Qualified Service Provider appointment.
The amount of funding for retro-commissioning and implementation of smart technologies in building will depend on the amount of the energy saving and project duration. The more energy the project will save and the sooner the project will be completed, the more funding will be granted.
The funding will be disbursed to applicants in the form of reimbursement, i.e. the applicant has to settle the payment on its own before seeking reimbursement from the Fund.

For the commercial buildings, industrial buildings or composite buildings without Owners’ Corporation or other owners’ organisations as specified above, the building owner may also apply for the Fund.

All applications will be handled by CLP while final approval will come from CLP and a vetting committee comprising various stakeholders from across the community with keen interest in promoting energy efficiency.
The Project must be completed no later than 24 months after approval.
