Buildings consume around 90% of the electricity used in Hong Kong. Improving the energy efficiency of buildings not only helps reduce energy costs, but also contributes to carbon reduction and creates a greener city.

Retro-commissioning (RCx) is a cost-effective way to optimise a building’s operational performance without the need to replace existing equipment. It is a relatively low-cost investment which allows businesses to achieve energy saving in their buildings at a faster pace and with shorter investment payback periods.

What is CLP Retro-Commissioning Charter

To encourage your businesses to make your buildings more energy efficient, we have introduced the brand new CLP Retro-Commissioning Charter programme. The programme aims to incentivise companies to contribute towards long-term decarbonisation by implementing RCx solutions in their properties.

Why should your company take part?

Reduce Consumption & Costs

By implementing Retro-commissioning, you can identify hidden opportunities to save energy and costs in buildings. Eligible RCx projects will be subsidised by the CLP Eco Building Fund to further help shorten the investment payback period*.

*The subsidy amount is up to 100% of the total project cost, depending on the estimated annual energy saving.

Equip Your Team with RCx Expertise

A tailored RCx training course, fully sponsored by CLP, will be offered to a maximum of three energy management staff from each participating property, and a maximum of five energy management staff from each participating organisation.

Build a Positive Corporate Image

Participating organisations can fulfil their corporate and social responsibility and take part in regular RCx promotional activities.

What do you need to do?

The programme will run from May 2021 to 31 December 2022 and will consist of the following phases:
