CLP introduced a one-off community care subsidy in 2013 for underprivileged families to help ease the pressure of electricity bills for more than 10,000 families.

We carefully targeted low-income families in our service area using criteria set out by the government’s Community Care Fund to make sure the subsidy reached those who needed it most.

The initiative enabled CLP to expand its community support to lower income families who fall outside the social security safety net and do not receive welfare benefits such as public housing or Comprehensive Social Security Assistance.
