“Power for Love” Campaign

Save Energy, Light Up Lives

This April, CLP has launched a world-first community initiative called Power Your Love that redirects saved energy to households in need. The programme aims at saving energy which is good for the environment and the community. Through such innovative initiative, CLP is committed to sustain energy conservation.

From now until 20 July, eligible customers of CLP can register for the Power Your Love programme online by going to www.clponline.com.hk/PowerYourLove. Every unit of electricity (kWh) saved in June and July, compared to the same period last year will be transferred to offset the electricity bills of households in need, helping to ease their electricity expenses, while demonstrating the theme to “Save Energy – Light Up Lives”. A HK$6 million fund from CLP shareholders has been earmarked to support this programme.

Prizes will be awarded to participating corporate organisations including “Top Donor Award”, “Top Referral Award” and the “Top Energy Savings Award”.

Chief Secretary for Administration Mrs Carrie Lam, Vice Chairman of CLP Power Mrs Betty Yuen and Managing Director of CLP Power Mr Paul Poon jointly officiated at the launch ceremony which was held on 20 April, together with Secretary for the Environment Mr Wong Kam-sing, business customers and community partners to call for support towards this important and meaningful programme.

To allow more businesses and organisations to encourage their employees to support and promote this meaningful programme to others, CLP will organise energy saving seminars in their workplaces. In May, Power Your Love programme was successfully introduced to Hong Kong Observatory, Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation, Hospital Authority, Tai Hing Catering Group and The Chinese University of Hong Kong with great support from their staffs. Promotional activities will go on to allow more corporations to join us in giving power to those in need in our community.
