Creating an Energy Saving Metropolis With Green Technology

Dear Customer,

CLP has always promoted smart energy and living initiatives to mitigate climate change. Past experience has shown that it is important to work with the business community to drive the development of sustainable practices within society. Therefore, we strive to collaborate with our business partners so we can implement energy saving solutions and build a better Hong Kong.

In support of our latest Scheme of Control Agreement with the government, we have launched several energy efficiency and conservation initiatives. These include the CLP Eco Building Fund, the Renewable Energy Feed-in Tariff Scheme, Renewable Energy Certificates and our upcoming Electrical Appliance Upgrade Scheme (EEUS), which will be launched in January 2019.

Throughout the past year, we have also organised several events for sharing the latest smart energy saving solutions. Our Smart Energy Symposium in June was attended by more than 300 representatives from commercial and industrial segments. To encourage the industry to improve energy efficiency and recognise customers’ efforts in this area, we also held the inaugural Smart Energy Award in October, which attracted more than 240 entries, with 34 winning businesses and organisations being selected as role models for the industry.

In November, the Central Kitchen Fair & Seminar introduced smart, green, culinary concepts to the catering industry, bringing in new partners to promote our latest business concepts, such as smart central kitchens, shared kitchens and food-delivery companies. We hope that by bringing all partners together, we can contribute to an eco-friendly environment and build stronger collaboration within the catering ecosystem, helping businesses grow.

To enhance communication between CLP and our customers, we have launched a new WhatsApp channel, which will improve customer experience for SMEs enrolled in our Energy Saving Rewards Programme. We hope that by deploying a comprehensive communications strategy, we can deepen engagement with our customers, understand their pain points, help them to innovate and contribute to the growth of their businesses.

With 2018 coming to an end, I would like to wish all our customers great success, health and happiness for 2019! Together, we can do a lot more for the environment, our communities and businesses.
