Energy audit is a systematic approach to assess the energy efficiency performance of your system/equipment. It identifies savings opportunities and pinpoints areas in need of improvement.

An energy audit process typically includes:

  • Analysis and assessment of your system/equipment’s energy performance
  • Identification of "Energy Management Opportunities (EMOs)"
  • Potential saving estimates
  • Recommendations for energy savings solutions.

All CLP’s commercial and industrial customers are eligible to apply for this service.

Energy Saving Loan Scheme

To fully utilise the savings opportunities identified in the energy audit, CLP can help you arrange an interest free loan under the Energy Saving Loan Scheme for financial assistance to implement energy efficient projects. These projects are those that can generate energy saving through the retrofitting of your system/equipment with more efficient designs. For instance, replacing air-cooled chillers with water-cooled chillers, changing incandescent lamps to LED lamps, and substituting conventional water heaters with heat pumps, etc.

All CLP’s non-government commercial and industrial customers with energy savings potential identified in those energy audits conducted either by CLP or by another accredited third party Registered Energy Assessor (REA) under the Building Energy Efficiency Ordinance are eligible to apply for the loan.

The energy efficiency projects under the Eco Building Fund and energy saving programmes supported by CLP Community Energy Saving Fund are eligible, for that proportion of the project cost not already covered by contributions, grants or rebates.
