2016-17 Appliance Bonus Scheme (Terms & Conditions)

1. Eligibility

a. The Scheme is only open to selected registered customers of domestic accounts of CLP Power Hong Kong Limited (CLP Power) as appeared in the customer records of CLP Power.

b. i. The scheme is only applicable to selected registered customers of domestic accounts of CLP Power provided that the relevant accounts must be effective within the past 12 months from the date of scheme application. Customers are not eligible to apply for the scheme if the relevant accounts have been effective for more than 12 months before the date of scheme application. ii. Each eligible customer account can only be used to apply the bonus scheme once. Such account must have never been benefited for any bonus scheme or the EWH Promotion Scheme provided by CLP Power before this application. Furthermore, they will not be eligible for other similar product promotional offers by CLP Power in future once their applications are approved by CLP.

c. For 2016 / 2017 Appliances Bonus Scheme, applicants are required to purchase the following  appliances in Hong Kong between 1st Jul 2016 and 30th Jun 2017 (both days inclusive):

  • Twin Zone Induction Cookers / Electric Water Heater (3kW or 4kW single phase / 18kW or above three phases) / Single Zone IC (2kw or above)

Applicants (1) shall bring all originals and copies of (i) all their purchase  receipts, (ii) product warranty cards (or delivery note) to New Public Housing Estate CLP Temporary Booth or any CLP Customer Service Centre or (2) shall send copies of (i) all their purchase receipts, (ii)product warranty cards (or delivery note) to email address aeh@clp.com.hk on before  15th Jul 2017 for the bonus scheme application.

d. The purchase receipts should clearly indicate the date of purchase and the delivery address of the appliances in this application. The delivery address must be identical to the applicant’s registered account address in this application.

e. No request for change will be accepted once the application is approved by CLP Power.

f. The applicant shall install the appliance(s) and use it/them in the CLP registered account address in this application for at least 12 months from the date of the approval of application by CLP Power.

g .If applicants terminate/change name for their electricity accounts or cease to use the required appliances in this application within 12 months from the date of their successful applications, CLP Power reserves the right as follows: 

- to cancel their applications and  all non-issued electricity bonus payments., and/or 

- to claim back their electricity bonus received from CLP Power. The claim amount will be debited against the applicants’ electricity accounts.

2. Bonus Payment

a. After application for electricity supply and deposit paid, the entre entire bonus of 2016 / 2017 Appliances Bonus Scheme, will be credited to the applicant’s account by one installment as soon as practicable.

b. The bonus shall be used for the purpose of selling CLP Power electricity bills. If the entitled bonus amount is much more than electricity bill of that billing period, the excess amount will be carried forward to the next electricity bill and so on until no excess remains. The bonus is not transferable and cannot be redeemed for other purposes.

3. Site Check

a. Within 12 months from the date of the successful application, the applicant agrees and accepts that CLP Power reserves the  right to conduct a site visit at the registered account address in this application to confirm the installation of the required appliances.

b. If CLP Power requires a site visit, CLP Power will notify the applicants. However, the date and time of the site visit must be agreed by both parties.

c. If the applicant fails to give CLP Power to take the site visit within one month after the date of request of first notification made by CLP Power, CLP Power reserves the right as follows:  - to cancel their applications and all non-issued electricity bonus payments  and/or  - to claim back their electricity bonus received from CLP Power by debiting against their electricity accounts, and/or  - Delay forthcoming bonus payments

d. If the required appliances set out in the application cannot be found during the site visit at the registered address, the applicants shall agree and accept CLP Power to:  - Cancel their applications and the non-issued electricity bonus, and/or 

- Claim back the applicants’ electricity bonus received from CLP Power plus an additional administrative charge of HK$500 by debiting against their electricity accounts

Furthermore, CLP Power shall reserve all rights to proceed sue appropriate legal actions against those applicants for fraudulent bonus scheme applications.

4. Others

a. The applicants and their suppliers/retainers shall directly deal and bear all the consequences regarding the  procurement, transportation, installation, after sales services and product quality of their  appliances involved in this application. CLP Power shall not be liable for all the consequences associated with the procurement, transportation, installation, after sales services, product quality and all other aspects in connection with the appliances.

b. CLP Power staff account holders are not eligible for the scheme.

c. The Scheme is opened to eligible customers on a first come first served basis for applications.

d. The applicants agree and accept that CLP Power reserves all the rights to rectify the terms and conditions of this bonus scheme at any time without prior notice. In case of any dispute arising from this promotion, the decision of CLP Power shall be final and binding.

e. This Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws of Hong Kong SAR.

f. In the event of discrepancy or inconsistency between the English and the Chinese version, the English version shall prevail.
