CLP Power, Link and DBS Hong Kong Unveil “Low Carbon Rewards Programme” to Drive Sustainability in Hong Kong

As the global call for sustainability intensifies, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) face numerous challenges transitioning to low carbon operations. As an energy partner to SMEs, we have developed a range of sustainability support services designed to enhance energy efficiency and reduce operational costs.

In 2024, CLP, Link, and DBS Hong Kong joined hands to launch the “Low Carbon Rewards Programme,” encouraging Link’s SME tenants in five selected shopping malls - Temple Mall, Kai Tin Shopping Centre, Tsz Wan Shan Shopping Centre, TKO Gateway and T Town - to participate in low-carbon practices, such as Energy Audits and the Electrical Equipment Upgrade Scheme, allowing them to enhance energy efficiency and enjoy the additional rewards and promotional opportunities. Participating SME tenants are also able to enjoy new business account opening and banking privileges provided by DBS Hong Kong. Thanks to these incentives, it is anticipated SMEs will be motivated to engage in the initiatives and foster environmental awareness in our communities.

The “Low Carbon Rewards Programme” has already attracted over 100 participating stores since its launch, including O’Farm, the organic grocery retail chain. O’Farm focuses on environmental sustainability, reflected in its commitment “Wise Choice. Eat Wise.” As well as providing consumers with reliable health information and value-for-money products, O’Farm strives to reduce energy consumption and packaging waste in its operations while fostering an inclusive environment.

As Link's Green Lease tenant, O’Farm pledged to conserve energy and water while minimising waste. As a participant in the “Low Carbon Rewards Programme,” O’Farm can enjoy the rewards offered by DBS Hong Kong and participate in DBS Credit Card promotions to boost their brand image and drive sales. For example, customers using selected DBS Credit Cards to spend a designated amount with participating Link shopping mall merchants can earn up to HK$240 in “InstaRedeem”. This benefits both participating merchants and consumers, helping to foster mutually beneficial business.

O’Farm has integrated environmental sustainability into its operations by digitalising its process and encouraging e-payments. To further reduce waste and contribute to decarbonisation, the chain has simplified its packaging to reduce plastic use. O’Farm has applied for energy audits for its 30 stores, aiming to receive practical energy-saving advice and measures to enhance energy efficiency and reduce operational costs.  Furthermore, O’Farm has made use of the subsidy provided under the “Electrical Equipment Upgrade Scheme” to replace existing lightings fixtures with a more energy-efficient LED lighting system at their office area.

CLP earnestly invites all SMEs to participate in energy-saving and decarbonisation initiatives, working together towards a sustainable future.
