Application process

Understand the application process and documents required for the CLP Solar Grant Programme.

When to apply 

You may submit application at any time from 01 January 2024 to 31 December 2024. The approval process takes about 1 month.

Required documents

You shall at least include the following documents in your application:

  • Tender your bids at a minimum of 3 bids or quotations, depending on the project scale. Refer to Section 6 of the Terms & Conditions (PDF) to understand our procurement requirements
  • Copy of certificate of registration of school / NGO
  • Copy of documentary proof of non-profit-making entity (e.g. proof showing the eligible school / NGO is exempted from taxes under section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance (Cap. 112))
  • Preliminary layout plan clearly marked on an aerial photograph of the proposed location(s) for installation of the solar energy generation system
  • The tenancy agreement of the premise where the solar energy generation system is proposed to be installed, if such premise is rented from private party / government
  • Copy of document proof of the project-in-charge person (e.g. minutes of meeting, staff card, name card)

Note:
  • We can only process your application after we receive all of the required documents.
  • Before awarding your contracts to vendors, you must obtain approval from CLP. 
  • The application process will terminate automatically if it is not completed within the applicable validity period as defined in Section 8 of the Terms & Conditions

What happens next

Acknowledgement

Once you submit CLP Solar Grant Programme application with all of the required documents, we will send you an email to confirm that we have started processing your application.

Based on your application, we will either contact you for more information or schedule a pre-installation on-site assessment. 

Once we complete the assessment and the application has been vetted by CLP, you should receive your application results.

Starting on your project

You may award your contracts to vendors once we approve your application. You must complete your project within 18 months from the date of Final Funding Approval.

Submitting your claims

Funding will be disbursed on a reimbursement basis upon project completion. You must settle your payments before you can claim from the fund.

Your submission should include required documents as follows:

  •  CLP’s FiT Completion Letter for the solar energy generation systems applying for CLP Solar Grant Programme; 
  • A copy of the signed contract or contract award notification;
  • Certified copies of invoices & receipt; and
  • Solar Grant Project Completion Sheet
