Moving Towards Electrification

Have you ever wondered how much greenhouse gas you produce with your daily commute? The transport industry accounts for around 18% of Hong Kong’s carbon emissions. CLP believes electrification is the key to reducing emissions and supports an electrified Mass Transit Railway system that provides more than six million journeys a day.

To achieve the vision of zero vehicular emissions in Hong Kong before 2050, CLP is working with the Government and stakeholders to support e-transport trials of buses, minibuses, taxis, and ferries. Our strategy will be adjusted from time to time to keep abreast of the new development of electric vehicle (EV) charging technology.

To support the Government’s EV-charging at Home Subsidy Scheme, CLP provides one-stop technical support and customer service to applicants interested in applying for funding for EV charging infrastructure in the car parks of private residential blocks.
