CLP Award for VPET Students

About the Programme

To further strengthen CLP’s youth engagement work in the area of career and development, CLP has set up a scholarship to assist disadvantaged students to pursue vocational and professional education and training (VPET) studies, thus enhancing their upward mobility. This will also enable CLP to train a group of professional talents for the energy sector that meet Hong Kong’s development needs. In collaboration with the Vocational Training Council (VTC), CLP devote an amount of $1.5 million for two consecutive years since 2020 from the CLP Community Energy Saving Fund (CESF) to support 75 disadvantaged students who have financial needs and enrolled into VPET power engineering relating programmes.

Under the current Scheme of Control Agreement, 65% of the incentives earned by CLP Power from achieving relevant energy efficiency targets will be allocated to the CESF to support energy efficient and conservation campaigns in encouraging people to live a low-carbon lifestyle and at the same time supporting the underprivileged.
