CATL battery swapping station visit and luncheon

On 16 April, CLP Power brought together the eMobility Network members and fleet operators for an industry visit to gain first-hand insights into battery-swapping solutions introduced by one of eMobility Network members - Dragon Rise with CATL for new HongQi e-taxis and a live demonstration of battery swapping operations , and Dragon Rise also shared its plan to launch five to six battery swapping stations in Hong Kong within this year, facilitating the adoption of battery-swapping solutions for electric taxi fleets. The first and second stations are expected to put into service in coming months.

During the visit, Simon Lam, Director – eMobility, shared CLP Power’s latest initiatives and strategies for electric mobility, highlighting how we are supporting the deployment of new technologies and solutions across the EV ecosystem. CLP Power continues to expand our power supply network, provide flexible power supply solutions, and act as super-connector to orchestrate ecosystem partners in promoting industry exchanges, accelerating the electrification of commercial vehicle fleets. The network members showed great interest in latest battery swapping technologies, and the visit has created opportunities for collaboration in commercial vehicle electrification.

Established by CLP Power together with electric commercial vehicle manufacturers and operators, charging service providers, battery swapping operators, battery recycling companies and green finance institution, the eMobility Network serves as a platform for knowledge sharing and collaboration. Through technical seminars and industry visits, members gain deeper insights into key developments shaping Hong Kong’s eMobility journey.
