CLP held a second annual presentation ceremony on 4 December 2019 to honour the winners of its Smart Energy Award programme, recognising the outstanding performance of Hong Kong businesses and organisations in energy management and the use of renewable energy and smart technology.
Awards were given in four categories – Energy Saving Performance, Peak Demand Management, Renewable Energy, and Smart Technology. They were divided into two sectors, one for corporate and government bodies, and the other for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), non-governmental organisations (NGOs), and education institutes.
Judges selected 35 winners from more than 350 entries for their outstanding energy-saving performance and innovative practices. In addition, five businesses and organisations received a Renewable Energy Contribution Award for supporting the development of renewable energy in Hong Kong.
Booths at the presentation ceremony display smart business and energy-saving solutions and showcase the innovative efforts by winning entrants. One booth demonstrates a Government-run sewage treatment plant fitted with more than 4,200 solar panels, while another features a restaurant which has saved air conditioning (A/C) costs with the help of a Smart A/C Control System.
