Personal Information Collection Statement

1.  Personal data collected by CLP Power via CLP Underprivileged Families Electricity Subsidies Programme is mainly for assessing and processing applications of this Programme and any other directly related purposes.  CLP may also use the collected data:

• to verify your identity before handling your request;
• to respond and follow up on enquiries;
• to notify beneficiaries / guardians of changes to our services that may affect the beneficiaries;
• to issue subsidy;
• to conduct research and statistical analysis;
• to communicate with you; 
• to maintain, update, invite and/or handle relevant records containing your participation in activities and distribute activity information; 
• to conduct customer reviews, surveys, research and statistical analysis for CLP to understand other services you need and design or improve products or services; 
• to conduct a comprehensive behavioral analysis.

2.  You are not required to provide the personal data requested and your provision of personal data is on a voluntary basis. However, CLP Power may not be able to process the application unless beneficiary’s full name in English, Hong Kong Identity Card number, residential address, supporting document information, electricity account information or bank account information are provided.

3.  CLP Power may, for the purposes stated above, transfer your personal data to third parties (including service providers outside Hong Kong and cloud service providers), including service providers engaged by CLP Power (e.g. letter-shopping service providers or banks) for carrying out Fuel Cost Subsidy Programme.

4.  CLP will disclose data when required to do so by law and may also disclose such data in response to requests from law enforcement agencies, government departments or regulatory authorities.

5.  You have a right to request access to, the correction and erasure of, your personal data in accordance with, where applicable, the provisions of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486), and any other data protection law as applicable.  Requests for access, correction and/ or erasure of personal data, as well as withdrawal of consent, where applicable, should be addressed to our Customer Experience Department Assistant and made by email at [email protected] or by mail to CLP Power Hong Kong Limited at 13/F, 6 On Lai Street, Sha Tin, New Territories.

6.  CLP Power's Privacy Policy Statement specifies policies on privacy and personal data protection and is available on the CLP Power website at  https://www.clp.com.hk/en/privacy-policy.

7.  CLP Power may arrange any media interviews including using photos or videos of you for the publicity purpose for this programme.
