Apply for electricity or name transfer (Business)

Get electricity for your new workplace in Kowloon or New Territories.

This online application takes about 5 minutes to complete.

At a glance

  • Owner/ Tenant 
  • Authorized representative /Property agent

As soon as you sign your: 

  • Sale and Purchase Agreement; or 
  • Tenancy Agreement.

Please prepare your: 

  • Property’s address;
  • Hong Kong ID, passport number or Resident Identity Card (Mainland China) / Chinese Travel Permit/Company's business registration number; and
  • Sale and Purchase Agreement, Tenancy Agreement*.

*If you do not have these copies on hand, you can still apply and submit the documents to us later.

Note:

We can only process your application after we receive your Sale and Purchase Agreement or Tenancy Agreement.

What happens next

Confirmation SMS 

Once you submit your online application, we will send an SMS acknowledgement within the same day.  

If you choose to submit your documents at a later date, we will send an SMS reminder within the next working day. Please email the documents to [email protected]. Once the application confirmed, we will send you an SMS notification.

First bill and initial deposit

Once we approve your application, we will collect your initial deposit within 1 week. This will be refunded when you close your electricity account.

You should also receive your first bill within 1 month of your electricity activation date.

Apply for change of load or book an appointment for electrical installation inspection

Depending on your electricity needs, you may need to apply for change of load or book an electrical installation inspection.

Note:

You must pay for your initial deposit before you can book an electrical installation inspection.
