Energy Efficient Appliance Replacement Scheme

Phase 1 of the “Energy Efficient Appliance Replacement Scheme” has ended and is no longer accepting applications.
Applicants who have already submitted their applications will be notified of the result by email between 30 March and 9 April 2026. Please wait patiently.

Four types of appliances will be eligible for replacement: Inverter air conditioners, electric water heaters, refrigerators, and washing machines. Please stay tuned for further announcements.

To support disadvantaged communities in replacing energy‑efficient appliances and reducing long‑term electricity expenses, CLP has allocated HK$30 million from the CLP Community Energy Saving Fund this year to launch the Energy Efficient Appliances Replacement Scheme. The Scheme subsidises eligible elderly persons, low‑income families, and persons with disabilities to replace four types of high‑consumption appliances—inverter air conditioners, electric water heaters, refrigerators, and washing machines—with models carrying a Grade 1 Energy Label. 
Eligible households who successfully apply may purchase designated appliance models through the Domeo platform, and receive a subsidy of 70% of the total order amount, capped at HK$2,700, whichever is lower. 

Customers who received subsidy under the “Inverter Air Conditioner Replacement Subsidy Scheme” 2025 are not eligible to apply for this Scheme again.
All Grade 1 energy‑label inverter air conditioners, electric water heaters, refrigerators, and washing machines have been registered with the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department. For more details, please visit the Electrical & Mechanical Services Department website.

CLP will notify applicants of the application results by email. Quotas are limited and allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.

If the application is successful, purchase arrangements will be made according to the sequence based on the date of applications submitted. Each successful applicant may purchase up to two appliance categories, with one item per category.

These dates are subject to change based on actual situation. The information on this page shall prevail.

Who are eligible

Eligible persons must be Hong Kong residents who have held Hong Kong resident status for not less than one year, and must be CLP residential electricity customers, and must also meet one of the following eligibility criteria:

1. Aged 65 or above elderly; and receiving assistance from one of the following schemes:

  • Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA); or
  • Old Age Living Allowance (OALA)

2. Low-income family; and receiving assistance from one of the following schemes:

  • Working Family Allowance (WFA); or
  • Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA); or
  • Full Grant of The School Textbook Assistance (TA); or
  • Full remission of Kindergarten and Child Care Centre Fee Remission (KCFRS) 

3. The Disabled; and receiving assistance from one of the following schemes:

  • Registration Card for People with Disabilities; or
  • Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) Scheme with Transport Supplement; or
  • Social Security Allowance (SSA) Scheme with Disability Allowance
Note:

Special Eligibility Applicants

Applicants who meet both Point 1 and Point 3 above and submit the required valid documents at the time of application (Registration Card for People with Disabilities and CSSA for the Elderly / Old Age Living Allowance) will be classified as Special Eligibility Applicants.
 

If the application is successful, Special Eligibility Applicants may receive a subsidy amount calculated as 70% of the selling price of each appliance or HK$2,700 per appliance, whichever is lower. Applicants may purchase up to two appliance categories, and only one product per category.
 

The quota for Special Eligibility Applicants is limited and offered on a first‑come‑first‑served basis. If the required documents are incomplete or if the quota is full, the application will be processed as a general application.

Preparation and Important Notes Before Applying

  1. Provide a CLP account number (electricity supply address must match delivery address)
  2. Provide a Domeo login email or another valid email address (results will be notified by email only)
    If you do not have a Domeo account, you may activate or apply for one now (tutorial link).
  3. Electronic copies of the required eligibility documents (for online applicants) or photocopies (for in‑person applicants)  (Eligibility Documents Sample)
  4. Decide which appliance categories to purchase
  • If an applicant is unsuccessful in Phase One, they may submit another application in Phase Two. All applicants may only receive the subsidy once under the entire Scheme.
  • No supplementary information will be accepted for any application. Please ensure that all details provided on the application form are accurate and complete before submission.
  • You may purchase up to two categories, and only one product per category. 
  • Customers who received subsidy under the “Inverter Air conditioner Replacement Subsidy Scheme” 2025 are not eligible to apply for this Scheme again.

How to apply

Eligible persons may apply in either Phase 1 or Phase 2 depending on the type of appliances. 

Phase 1: Complete the online application form or submit the application in person between 17 and 23 March 2026. Around 5,000 quotas, available on a first‑come-first‑served basis. 

  • Online Application: Phase 1 has ended and is no longer accepting applications
  • In-person Application: Phase 1 has ended and is no longer accepting applications

Applicants will be notified of the result by email between 30 March and 9 April. 

Phase 2Complete the online application form or submit the application in person between 27 April 2026 and 3 May 2026. Around 6,000 quotas, available on a first‑come-first‑served basis.

  • Online Application: The form will be available from 27 April 2026 09:00 to 3 May 2026 23:59 
Tip:

🎉By selecting “online purchase” and providing a valid Domeo login email, receive an Extra Reward* when purchasing specific model.

  • In-person Application: Complete the application form and submit it to staff at a CLP Customer Service Centre together with copies of the required eligibility documents.

Applicants will be notified of the result by email between 12-15 May.

Application quotas for each phase are limited and allocated on a first‑come‑first‑served basis.

How to purchase

CLP will verify eligibility according to the order of applications. Once the application is approved, applicants may purchase according to the purchase method selected during application using the “unique promo code” (each code can be used once, and will become invalid automatically after use).

  • Online Purchase

Step 1: Applicants must log in to the designated Domeo link within the assigned purchase timeslot stated in the email. (no supplementary timeslot; late access will not be accepted)

Step 2: Select the appliance, then add to cart.

Step 3: Enter “unique promo code” in the shopping cart to deduct the subsidy amount and pay the remaining balance.

Step 4: Supplier will contact the applicant to arrange delivery and installation.
🎉Those who have applied online and purchase specific models online will enjoy an Extra Reward*.

  • In-store Purchase

Step 1: A representative will contact by phone to schedule an in‑store purchase timeslot.

Step 2: Applicants bring the successful application email and “unique promo code”, and visit the designated store during the scheduled timeslot. (walkins will not be accepted.)

Step 3: Select the appliance, present the successful application email and the unique promo code to the staff; pay the remaining balance on site.

Step 4: Supplier will contact the applicant to arrange delivery and installation.

All successful applicants may purchase up to two appliance categories, with one item per category.

Please note that online and in store product stock levels are synchronized. Quantities are limited and available on a first-come-first-served basis. Failure to complete the purchase within the purchase timeslot will be considered as forfeiting the subsidy quota.

Note:
  • Do not share or disclose your code. No reissue, refunded or compensation will be provided for any loss or unauthorised use for any reason.
  • Only one promo code can be used per order, and each promo code can be used once only.
  • The delivery address must match the electricity supply address of the account used in the application. Otherwise, the application will be disqualified and cancelled.

FAQs

Regarding Application

No. The Energy Efficient Appliances Replacement Scheme does not apply to customers who have already received subsidies under the Inverter Air Conditioner Replacement Subsidy Scheme 2025.

The two phases differ in appliance category:

Phase 1: Only applications for inverter air conditioners and electric water heaters. If you only need to replace these appliances, applying in Phase 1 is recommended so you may purchase earlier. 

Phase 2: If you need to purchase refrigerators / washing machines, please apply in Phase 2.

These two appliance categories consume more electricity and require site inspection and installation. To facilitate earlier processing and purchasing, applications for these items are prioritized.

Yes.

If your Phase 1 application is unsuccessful (notification between 30 March and 9 April), you may apply again in Phase 2 (starting 27 April 2026).

If your Phase 1 application is successful, your Phase 2 application will not be processed, regardless of whether you eventually purchase any appliance.

Note: Submitting an application does not guarantee a quota for purchase. Result notified by email shall be final.

No. The Scheme only accepts applications from elderly persons aged 65 or above who are receiving Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) or the Old Age Living Allowance (OALA).

Eligible persons may submit applications between 17 March 2026, 09:00 – 23 March 2026, 23:59 (Phase 1) / 27 April 2026, 09:00 – 3 May 2026, 23:59 (Phase 2). Applications may be submitted online or in-person. Subsidy quotas are limited and offered on a first‑come‑first‑served basis.

  • For in-person applications, the date and time marked by the staff upon receipt shall prevail.

The online purchase process for this Scheme takes place on the designated page of the Domeo platform, therefore applicant’s login email is required in order to access and use it. 

If you already have a CLP One account, open the CLP App > Discover > Domeo eShop

  • If it redirects to the Domeo “My Account” page, it means you already have a Domeo account. Your login email will appear under your name.
  • If it redirects to the Domeo homepage, it means your Domeo account is not linked. You may register a new Domeo account and link it manually to enjoy a smoother points‑earning and redemption experience. Click here for the full tutorial.

If you meet both the “Elderly Category (aged 65 or above)” and the “Persons with Disabilities Category”, then:

At the time of application:

  • Select “Special Eligibility Applicant” in the application form.
  • You must provide the required valid documents (CSSA for the Elderly / Old Age Living Allowance and Registration Card for People with Disabilities). After CLP verifies your eligibility, you will be classified as a Special Eligibility Applicant, result subject to confirmation by email. If only one document (Elderly or Disability) is provided, your application will be processed as a general application. If neither requirement is met, the application will be considered invalid.
  • This quota is limited and allocated on a first‑come‑first‑served basis.

Subsidy amount:

  • If approved, the subsidy amount will be 70% of the selling price of each appliance, capped at HK$2,700, whichever is lower.

During purchase:

  • Based on the appliance categories selected during application, Special Eligibility Applicants will receive one or two unique promo codes. Each unique promo code can only be used for the specific appliance category selected during application. After the application is submitted, CLP does not accept any request to change or add appliance categories.
  • Example 1: If applicants selected air conditioner during application, you will receive one unique promo code for purchasing an air conditioner only. Subsidy applies to air‑conditioner purchase only.
  • Example 2: If applicants selected air conditioner and washing machine, you will receive two unique promo codes, one for each category. Subsidy applies only when purchasing the air conditioner and washing machine.

Online Purchase: Log in using the designated Domeo link, place order, and the subsidy will be deducted instantly. Applicants can also receive an Extra Reward* when purchasing specific models!

In‑store Purchase: A representative will contact by phone to schedule a purchase timeslot for purchasing at the store.

No. Once the application form for this Scheme has been submitted, no supplementary documents or amendments will be accepted. Please ensure all information is complete and accurate before submitting.

CLP will only process the first application submitted by each CLP residential electricity account in each phase. Any subsequent applications will not be processed.

If applicants selected in-store purchase and provided a valid Domeo login email, applicants may switch to online purchase immediately using the designated Domeo link sent by email.

If applicants selected online purchase, changes cannot be made.

Applicants will receive a notification email with the “unique promo code”, use it within the purchase timeslot to complete order, the subsidy will be deducted based on the total order amount^, and applicants only need to pay the remaining balance.

Failure to complete the purchase within the purchase timeslot will be considered as forfeiting the subsidy quota.

^ For Special Eligibility Applicants, the subsidy is calculated based on the selling price of each appliance.

It means you passed eligibility verification but were not allocated a subsidy quota. If any applicants decline their quota, waiting list applicants will be notified in order.

If you do not receive further updates by 30 September 2026, it means you will not receive a subsidy under this Scheme.

  • You may select up to TWO categories (inverter air conditioner / electric water heater / refrigerator / washing machine).
  • You may purchase ONE product per category.
  • All items must be purchased within ONE order.

The subsidy covers 70% of the total order amount with a maximum of HK$2,700, whichever is lower^.

  • Example 1: An air conditioner costs $3,000, with a subsidy of HK$2,100 (70%), eligible customer will pay a balance of HK$900.
  • Example 2: An air conditioner and a refrigerator total cost $7,200, subsidy capped at HK$2,700, eligible customer will pay a balance of HK$4,500.

^ Special Eligibility Applicants will receive up to two unique promo codes (based on the appliance categories selected during application). If two appliances are selected and purchased, two different unique promo codes must be entered to calculate the subsidy amount. The subsidy amount will be calculated as 70% of the selling price of each appliance or HK$2,700, whichever is lower.

If you purchase appliances outside the selected categories, the subsidy will not be granted.

Successful applicants must complete the purchase within the assigned purchase timeslot, otherwise the quota will be considered as forfeited. Late submissions and purchases will not be accepted.

If applicants forfeit the subsidy from Phase 1, your application in Phase 2 will not be processed.

Yes. The appliance you purchase already includes the basic installation service. For any additional site inspection or installation services, please refer to the supplier's Installation & Delivery Service Charge Guide. Please note that any additional charges collected by the supplier are not covered by the subsidy.

The Site Inspection service is carried out by the supplier’s qualified technicians to ensure installation feasibility. Additional charges may apply.

  • For online purchase, applicants may book a site visit during checkout.
  • For in-store purchase, applicants may provide staff the brand/model or size of your existing appliance for an initial assessment. If needed, you may arrange a site inspection before placing an order. But then you will need to book another purchase timeslot to complete the order.

Please click “Update Shopping Cart” under the product list. The system will recalculate the total order amount and the subsidy amount.

There are several possible reasons:

  • Entered incorrectly
  • The code has already been used
  • The code does not match with the Domeo account provided during application
  • More than TWO appliances are selected across different categories, or more than ONE unit selected within the same category.
