The legacy Grid Connection Requirements and the two new Grid Connection Standards of Renewable Energy Systems and Grid Connection Standards of Battery Energy Storage Systems will both be applicable from 2 March 2026 to 31 August 2026. The Grid Connection Standards will be fully effective on 1 September 2026.

 

During this transition period, new grid connection applications that opt to comply with the legacy Grid Connection Requirements must be submitted on or before 31 August 2026, and the corresponding project must be commissioned within two years from the application date.

 

Applications submitted on or after 1 September 2026 will be required to comply with the new Grid Connection Standards.
