Once submitted, the agent will receive a confirmation SMS on the same day, and a verification email will be automatically sent to the customer.

Customer receives application email and completes process

Customer is required to follow email instructions and log in to complete the full application process.

Tip:

If the customer does not complete the remaining steps through the email and login, the application status will show as incomplete.

    • For Individual Customer: Identity Document (E.G., Hong Kong Identity Card, Passport; Chinese Travel Permit Or China Resident Identity Card Etc.)
    • For Corporate Customer: Company Business Registration
  • [For Premises With An Existing Or Inactive Electricity Account] Additional Document
    •  The Latest Sale And Purchase, Or
    •  The Latest Tenancy Agreement, Or
    •  The Latest Tenancy Agreement And Surrender Letter
Remark: 
1. If the existing registered customer has passed away and you are taking over the account, please upload the death certificate.
2. Please scan your documents one page at a time. If the document is in a horizontal two-page format, please scan the left and right pages separately.
3. CLP will process your application once we receive your Sale and Purchase Agreement or Tenancy Agreement along with the required identification document. CLP will consider the date specified in your submitted tenancy agreement or purchase agreement as the effective date, unless otherwise specified in the application.
Tip:

CLP reserves the right to terminate your application without notification if the required documents are not received within 7 days of the application submission.

  • You will receive your first bill within two months after your service is activated. 
  • The initial deposit will be reflected in your first bill. The account deposit balance (if any) will be refunded to the registered customer after closure of the account.

When a property agent submits an application on behalf of a client, a verification email is automatically sent to the client.

The application will only be completed once the client:

  • Confirms the verification email
  • Verifies their identity
  • Completes the remaining steps of the application

Please remind your client to check their email inbox — including the spam or junk folder — and complete all required steps.

The verification email is a one-time email and cannot be resent. If your client didn’t receive it, they’ll need to submit a new application.

You can only select a supply start date that is at least 3 working days from today.

The actual start date will be adjusted based on the effective date shown in your submitted documents.

You may submit a recent electricity bill under the name of the previous or current account holder as proof of address to support your application.

If you cannot find the address you need while applying online, you can click on "Can't find your address?" below the search bar and upload your documents.

If you do not upload the required documents within 7 days after submitting your application, the system may terminate your application without prior notice; or you may need to provide additional supporting documents to assist us in processing the application.

By applying for or obtaining electricity, you automatically agree to our Supply Rules (PDF). These rules are the terms and conditions upon which we supply electricity. They apply to all of our registered customers, and may be updated from time to time.
