Find out what causes automatic account closure and what happens next.

What causes automatic account closure 

Even though you did not apply for account closure, your account may be closed if: 

  • Your family member applied for name transfer at your supply address;
  • A new owner will take over your supply address; or
  • A new owner has taken over your supply address.

If your account was not closed because of the reasons above, please contact us immediately. We will investigate and follow up shortly.

What happens next

By default, we will use your initial security deposit to pay for your final bill. Please refer to the following links for more information:


If you are moving to a new home within Kowloon or the New Territories, you should apply for electricity or name transfer.
